Surviving it all

Recently I came across this on Facebook...

I fell in love with this post because it is just perfect for right now.

Even while being positive as of late, there are days that I just want to crouch in a corner and rock.

But I am not letting that happen because I am a survivor of so many things.

And so are you.

Take every day in your life and realize that you have walked away from so many challenges and problems and mistakes...there are going to be hard days and good days and we are just to learn from them and move forward.

Yeah, I know that I am preaching this and it sounds like self-help mumbo jumbo but I am saying this because we need to hear it.

We forget that through every day we are more than just going through the motions...we are living and we need to stop attacking ourselves for what we perceive has gone wrong and find a way to be right with all things happening and continue to survive.

A Brand New Day

Well, 2014 so far has been off to a positive start. How about you?

I am saying this because I am keeping up a positive outlook on things. That is my resolution if you will.

This is not necessarily an easy thing to do because I generally tend to be very logical and maybe sometimes negative in my thinking. Unfortunately that has not brought me too many good things so I'm trying a new approach.

I hear many things about the "law of attraction" and if you will it to you then it will come.

I think it makes sense.

Every time that I worried about something non-stop, something negative happened. I wonder if I would have just been positive and laid back about it all - maybe things would have turned out a bit different?

Well, now, I'm going to try that approach to thinking.

Bring on the positive and hope for the best!

Right?

It couldn't hurt to be honest. A positive outlook means a smile on my face and a kick in my step and right now, that's what I need so that is what I am doing.

There are many changes coming my way too. I can feel it and maybe some of them really soon and all these changes once again, are for the better.

It is better to go into these changes with a good outlook on their outcome and a bit of hope in my heart.

This is not to say that there won't be challenges - trust me, that is one thing in my life that I know I can guarantee - challenges.

But this time, I will look at them differently. Think about them differently.

So, for now, I'm going to count every blessing, I'm going to enjoy every morning and reflect every night.

Change is a comin' people and I'm going to take it and run with it!!

Oh and speaking of running - please don't forget about that little thing there on my side bar that is measuring my progress in raising funds for my upcoming race...if you can't help, please at least share it and help me get to my goal. I wanted to raise $1500 for Surfers for Autism and Train 4 Autism but as you can see, I'm REALLY far behind.

Oh, and here is your dose of cuteness for the day....

2014 - New Beginnings

Hey there everyone I hope that you have had an amazing holiday week so far and with one more to go, even more reasons to celebrate and be thankful for all the great things in your life.

2014 will be a new year and with a new year come changes and new beginnings.

This time, I will be beginning the new year single once again.

Yes, Mr. Big and I are no longer together.

It was a sudden change that I was not expecting but after much time, I have come to realize that it was the best thing for both of us and my family.

I'm not going to deny, it has been hard and a times very emotional but I have taken more away from this than I thought possible.

Mr. Big and I are remaining friends and that is the most important thing to take away from this.

We placed one another in our hearts for almost three years, a hard break would not be possible.

I wish nothing but the best for him and his family and I'm glad for all that I have learned from him and that he has taught me about myself.

So for now, I await 2014 and the new beginnings that it is bringing my way.

I don't know what the future holds - nobody does.

One thing that is for sure is the fact that I think I'm ready for it, hopefully "it" is ready for me.

Have a Happy New Year everybody.

See you next year!!

Much love!!
