Very!
If you're a parent you know this all too well.
On Saturday it was Baby Girl's birthday. She turned 5. Yeah, 5!!
That's my last baby.
As we were spending time at the beach I watched her and her siblings playing and I noticed one thing - time has passed so quickly and I was wondering where it went.
My kids are no longer tiny little creatures with indecipherable language (well they are to those who don't know them but I understand them) - they are individuals with thriving personalities all their own.
From the quiet child who likes to listen to the wind blow, to the child who can discuss the origins of the dinosaurs and their corresponding historical periods.
They are all so different and grown that I wonder how I have missed it. They are in front of me but yet it happened as if it were a flash of light.
And before I know it they will be older, taller (even though 3 of them are getting awfully close to my own height), smarter, funnier, and just plain awesome.
I can't wait! But then again, I can.
I think there is a country song that says "Let them be little" Yeah, I agree with that!
Oh and if I read my email right, tomorrow the 28th is my SITS day!! To my new and not so new readers...welcome!! I'm glad you stopped by. Here, have a cookie!
Time seems to just slip right through our fingers, especially with little ones. I'm still looking for that magic button that slows everything down...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your little lady!
Hi, I'm Zia and I'm coming from The SITS Girl. I read some of your posts and you're such an inspiring and strong woman. I have a cousin whose parents (my aunt and uncle) divorced when he was 2, so he had no recollection at all of his parents living under the same roof. His father did visit once in a while but not every weekend because he's busy (and now that he has his own family...) I think it's really nice for you to spend weekends with your children, even when they might be not as close as you want them to be with you, but at least they know that you'll be there for them when they need you.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your youngest girl by the way!
Time does go by so fast. My youngest started Kindergarten this year and it just seems like yesterday he was a little baby in my arms. Stopping by from SITS Girls.
ReplyDeleteLove the background of your blog! Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! My guy started kindergarten this year. Time is flying at my house.
ReplyDeleteI will take a cookie. Thank you! Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the cookie :) Happy SITS Day! There probably is a country song like that lol
ReplyDeleteHappy happy SITS day! I'm not yet a mommy myself but always have enormous amounts of respect for any mom who can keep it all together--and in the face of 6 children, I bow down to you :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having an awesome time in the spotlight. Enjoy the love and thanks for the cookie!
Congratulations on your SITS Day! :) I just read your About Me page and I have to say it takes courage to open up about your private life. I admire your dedication to your children despite the circumstances and getting your Masters, well, that's incredible! Congratulations again and enjoy your SITS Day! :)
ReplyDeleteyou have a beautiful family! congratulations on your SITS day!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! your kids are lovely! Tomorrow is my 4ths fourth birthday (number 5 is 1) but I love big families.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day!! I can TOTALLY relate to this post!! My daughter will be five in April and she's my last "baby" as well. The last 5 years have been an absolute blur! If it wasn't for the pictures we've taken, I feel like I've totally missed her growing up. :-( I think all mothers should be granted at least one moment in time that they can freeze with each child. I'm excited my kids are thriving and growing up but man oh man, sometimes I really wish I could slow it down just a little.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day! I know what you mean about time flying...my oldest is 16 and I can remember him being a baby just like it was yesterday! It makes me kind of sad in a way when I am thinking about it. Time just marches on!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! Hope your daughter's birthday was spectacular :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday day to your daughter and Happy SITS Day to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! My daughter is only 1 1/2 and still it feels like it's gone by in a snap. 5 seems to be coming to fast and yet its still so far away.
ReplyDeleteLove your writing style!
Isn't kinda of surreal to watch your "baby" grow up? Great pages, loved your blog. My kids are all grown up now and I'm watching my grand babies become little adults. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy SITS Day! (My you do have your hands full. Hugs :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day! I hope it is a great one for you!
ReplyDeleteTime definitely goes way too fast! I have 3 kiddos, 11, 9 and 3 and it seems like only yesterday each of them was born! I take tons of pictures, but find that I wish I had taken more, made more notes on this or that, etc. I can only move forward, however, and I pray that my memory stays where the pictures are not and then some! :)
Happy SITS Day! My "baby" just turned 5 at the end of September so I know exactly how you feel. 5 seems like such a big number already and they are definitely leaving toddler hood behind. Beach days are fun - I need one soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day! Your children are beautiful...love that picture! My kids are now 12 and 9, and the time is just flying by.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminds me of my favorite Gretchen Rubin quote " The days are long, but the years are short." Happy SITS Day.
ReplyDeleteDes still talks in his own language since he's only one, but I can see it changing. He's becoming his own person and of course I have to let it happen, but I love/hate it just the same. Happy SITS Day to you!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by to wish you a Happy SITS Day! Six lovelies to keep you on your toes...what a blessing :)

Happy SITS Day, Krystal! I was so excited to see that today was your day. I love your blog, so I'm very happy that everyone else will get a chance to check you out. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your SITS day. I hope it was a fabulous day for you. Sorry I'm late.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are 15-22, so that wishing they'd stay little thing hasn't worked so well for me. My son is about eight inches taller than me, but at least my girls have stopped at about my height. There are so many wonderful things in your future. Just love every stage with them. You have beautiful children.
